Your child can wear dungarees throughout the year- here’s how!

Dungarees aren’t just for summer!

Dungaree is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing out there and it’d be an absolute crime to limit it to just the summer season. When people usually hear the word dungarees, they relate it to ‘summer wear’. Well, you can’t really blame them when that’s how it has been promoted by fashion brands for years. When it comes to my kids, I try to use most of their wardrobe pieces throughout the year, even dungarees. Here’s how you can style kids dungarees throughout the year and irk the fashion police simultaneously.

Summer and Spring

Beating the heat in style!

Styling dungarees for the hotter seasons is a piece of cake since it has been done for ages. Just let your little one throw on a sleeveless t-shirt, a hat, some cool sunglasses, and a pair of flip flops. My youngest loves wearing short dungarees as opposed to full-length ones during summers. And sometimes, I find him waddling in just the dungaree with no t-shirt underneath. You can’t really blame him considering the unbearable heat.

Autumn

Fall’ing for this look!

If it was up to fashion gurus, they’d push you to get a new wardrobe for every season. While I’ll never miss an opportunity to shop for cute kids clothes, I also like to reuse whatever I can from my kids’ existing collection. Dungarees work really well for the autumn weather if you style it well. Dungarees when paired with a  full-sleeved t-shirt or a shirt in tartan material will keep your kids safe from the slight nip in the air. Boots and scarves just pull the look in together making your little one look like something straight out of a fashion magazine!

Winter

Leather and winter go hand in hand!

We are so used to denim dungarees that imagining dungarees in any other material just seems weirdly unnatural. But dungarees aren’t just limited to denim, you can get them in any fabric including cotton, velvet, and even leather! For winter, buy your kids a pair of leather dungarees and style it with a turtle neck t-shirt or their Christmas sweater. A dungaree skirt paired with some patterned tights and a frilly top makes for the perfect Christmas look for your little girl.

If you don’t want to buy new dungarees, you can always style the trusted denim dungarees with a sweater, mittens, and boots for the winters.
