Children’s day is one day that my kids really look forward to every year next to their birthdays. Every year, I try my best to make the day special by preparing their favourite snacks and buying them small gifts. Recently I came up with the idea of gifting them an experience to cherish rather than a toy which inadvertently ends up in the attic. Here are 5 fun activities for Children’s day that will make your child’s special day so much more memorable!
Picnic and planet gazing!
What better way to celebrate Children’s day than with a picnic followed by some star gazing! We actually did this for Yash’s 8th birthday but this works just as well for Children’s day. We packed some delicious snacks, picnic mats, and a ball. We found a nice shady spot right in the middle of Cubbon Park and laid out our mats and munched on snacks while the kids played. Soon after, we took off to the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium for the ‘Our Solar System’ show. Thankfully, we didn’t have to travel much as the planetarium was a mere 3 km away from the park. If you are in Bangalore, you should definitely try this out for Children’s day!
Amusement parks!
Make the next Children’s day one to remember with a day filled with adventurous rides, delicious food, shows, and games. I haven’t met a child who doesn’t love amusement parks. To make the trip even more fun, let your child invite their best friends. The more, the merrier! But I do suggest you plan and book the tickets way ahead as you might not be the only one planning on making your kid’s day with a trip to the land of fun!
Arcade!
Don’t have a whole day to spend at an amusement park? Not to worry, kids love arcades just as much. Pick the best arcade in the city and take your children for a fun day out. Many arcades also serve food, so grab some delicious pizza while you are there. Collect as many tickets as you can to grab the best prize!
Take them on a hot air balloon ride!
Kids are always up for an adventure and what can be more adventurous than a hot air balloon ride that will give you a bird’s-eye view of the city. Hot air balloon rides are slowly becoming popular in some of the major cities in India but many people are still unaware of it. Gift your little ones a one-of-a-kind experience with this ride. I guarantee you they will remember this for years to come.
Have a movie night!
If you prefer to do something at home, a movie night is a perfect idea. Host a movie night at your house and invite your children’s friends. Set up the right ambience, get loads of movie food, and pick some classic kids movies. You can even turn it into a sleepover party later.
