A change in season demands a change in your everyday outfit. Due to practical reasons such as rain or sun, you’ll have to mould your dressing style to suit the outside weather condition. Same goes for kids. Build a wardrobe by picking out seasonal clothes for kids that smoothly transition from one climate to the next. Coupled with these should be season-specific gear that will help your kid battle harsh weather and enjoy the pleasant ones. All this – while keeping up with the latest trends in styles and colours.
Summer: Keep them light and breezy
Summers are my favourite season of the year. It’s well past the gloomy winter days and it all bright and pleasant. Everyone is in the vacay-mood, especially kids – courtesy – summer breaks. It’s the time of the year when you take your kids on road trips or send them on fun summer camps. So, your kids’ summer clothes should include light clothes in, preferably, summer pastel colours. Cotton and linen are the go-to materials for summers. You could opt for shorts – denim or linen for boys and skirts and dresses for girls.
Monsoon: Stock up on rain gear
The monsoon season can get funny sometimes. One minute it’s blazing hot and the next it’s pouring cats and dogs. Rains are messy and occasionally cold. So what your kid needs is a work-around for all these possibilities. I suggest you go for denim pants or shorts during the monsoon. They are comfortable and will keep your kid warm when there’s a downpour. Pair these up with bright-coloured t-shirts and jackets to make up for the gloomy weather. Also, don’t forget to pack your kid’s bag with a pair of rain boots, a sturdy umbrella, and a raincoat.
Autumn: Look for jackets that never go out of style
Autumn days are usually windy days. While the winds are not too bothersome on most days, it could get chilly on some days. Also, since autumn is a slow transition period to winter, the probability of catching a cold, cough or fever is high so it’s always best to keep your child well-covered. Choose some light jackets or coats that your kid can go on to wear in the winter too. Brown, beige, and mustard are the colours of the season so keep an eye out for any of these.
Winter: Grab those faux fur coats!
Woollen sweaters, warm puffer jackets and hoodies are the staples of the winter wear wardrobe. The classy addition to this is the faux fur coat that’ll leave your kid looking like a British royal. With any one of these, your kids’ closet is set. You can manage to create an intelligent winter wear collection for your kid by layering up the clothes you bought for Summer, Monsoon, and Autumn.
