Happy teachers day!

Teachers play a crucial role in guiding kids to a better future. They not only teach kids academically but they also inspire them to be better people. To honour and commemorate their noble contribution towards society, Teacher’s day in India is celebrated on the 5th of September every year. This day gives students an opportunity to show their teachers how much they appreciate and value them.

We still have fond memories of decorating the classroom, making gifts for the teachers, and writing letters of gratitude as kids for teacher’s day. But one of the best ways to express your gratitude is through a teacher’s day speech. There is no weapon stronger than words and teachers know it quite well. Here are tips that will help you write the best speech for teacher’s day. We also have a teacher’s day speech sample just for you!

How to write the best teacher’s day speech ever!

  • Make notes- When you are writing a speech, there will be so many things that you’ll want to say. We suggest making notes of the key information you want to include in your speech. Noting down the key points helps you figure out the structure, tone, flow, and duration of the speech.
  • Form a skeleton- The key to a good speech lies in a strong structure. Before you start writing down the speech, form a basic structure that outlines the flow and length of the speech. A well-defined structure also helps write faster. Start with an introduction, move to the main body of information, and add a conclusion.
  • Keep it formal yet thoughtful- Speeches are usually considered to be a formal way of expressing one’s thoughts. While that still holds true for the teacher’s day speech, we suggest adding a personal touch. Details such as a funny joke, a story about how your teacher inspired you, a favourite quote dedicated to your teacher, etc. would add warmth to your speech.

Dear teacher…

“Respected teachers and friends,

Today, we are gathered here to celebrate the people who inspire us every day. This special day commemorates the birth anniversary of one of the greatest men in our country, Dr Radhakrishnan – who was not only an inspiring leader but also a dedicated teacher. We are thankful this day exists as it gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude to the ones who help shape us into better human beings.

Though we never express it, we are grateful for the immense impact and influence teachers have on our lives. You stand by our side when we make mistakes, help us believe in ourselves, give us hope, and most of all, never give up – regardless of how many times we fail. It takes dedication, passion, and patience to teach kids. In fact, you’ll need all the patience in the world, if you are dealing with batchmates like mine. We cannot thank you enough for all that you do for us.

I’d like to thank all the teachers for their dedication, patience, and genuine efforts. Thank you for believing in us and never giving up on us when we didn’t believe in ourselves. You deserve to be celebrated every day.

Thank you!”

One of the best ways to ensure your kid delivers the speech perfectly on teacher’s day is by letting them practice several times. Not only will this help them articulate better when they give the speech but also, gives them a boost of confidence.
