A long haul flight has always been one of my worst nightmares and ever since my kids came along, looking cute at the airport has been at the bottom of my priority list. I used to get really worked up about my kids’ airport looks before travelling anywhere. As they grew up, however, some of that stress simply took a backseat as I became a pro and started nailing my kids’ outfits for days when we are travelling!
I am confident I am not the first mother to freak out and make a HUGE deal about children’s fashion or their airport outfits. So, it only makes sense to help fellow mommies figure out a comfortable yet stylish attire for their kids. Here we go:
Look 1 – Winter is coming
This adorable look is my most favourite airport look for the winters! Whenever we are vacationing during the winter season, I make sure to load our bags with lots of body-hugging winter suits, woollen dresses, sweaters, thermals, socks, and tees! For infants, you can also try these super cozy thermal onesies and rompers that come in a wide array of patterns and designs! If you have a late-night flight to catch, you can try wrapping your baby (infants) in full sleeve woollen sleepsuits to keep them warm.
Look 2 – Summer Vibes
Summers are no-brainers when it comes to dressing my kids up for a long journey! I am a dedicated fan of all things cotton and so to keep my babies feeling at ease throughout the journey, I always go for fun cotton tees, dresses and shorts. My five-year-old is a fan of cute dresses, so I make sure to stock up on printed, patterned cotton dresses and hats for her before the journey. You can never go wrong with a pastel shade in the scorching summer heat.
Look 3 – The Cool Guy look
This look came as a surprise as I was hurriedly dressing my kids one day to catch an afternoon flight back home (yes, we overslept)! I had run out of all kids’ outfit ideas since it was the end of the vacation and as I scrambled through the heap, I randomly picked out a striped tee paired with denim jeans for my son and a cotton skirt with a white frilly blouse for my daughter. When they were all set I actually gave myself a pat on the back for having nailed their airport look yet again! I call this the ‘Cool Guy Look’ since they were totally nailing the whole ‘North West Kardashian’ vibe and I swear I saw some heads turn in their direction at the airport. Swear!
Look 4 – Let’s Denim It
When in doubt, wear denim. This look is as effortless as it gets and is super stylish and comfy! Simply throw in a pair of dungarees with a fun, solid coloured top and voila! You have a stylish baby all set to nail the airport look. The best part about Denim is that it complements kids of all age groups. Not a fan of dungarees? Simply opt for a denim jacket and pair it with a white cotton teeshirt and Denim pants. I am utterly thankful for the existence of Denim as it is my go-to airport look for my kids!
As a mother, making my kids comfortable is always at the top of my priority list. As a person who loves being in line with trends, creating comfortably stylish attires for my kids is at the second number in my priority list. You cannot go wrong with these effortlessly fashionable airport looks for kids.
Try them out and do let me know which ones you liked the most.

I wish I could pull off that ‘Cool Guy’ look with my kids. They usually end up looking like little rag dolls when I dress them in a hurry!
Can’t wait to try out these looks on my children!
Who’d have thought kids would have airport looks someday! The ideas are great though!
